Camped Town

We were asked by a well-known camping between Cambrils and Mont-roig del Camp to develop a masterplan so their site could become a more permanent settlement, all-year-round. This has evolved into a research on multi-storey prefab villages for abandoned camping sites and other lost locations.

The construction system is based on CLT panels made in Rialp (Catalan Pyrenees) with local pines, designed and fabricated so no screw is needed. Everything is assembled thru geometry, with enough loose space between joints to allow its disassembly in the mid or long term.

Private tents and caravans become shared community services, from diners to markets to storage spaces, where activities that don't need an atmospheric stability can be held.
